Eden Camp - Standards Parade - Sep 09
September saw a mass parade of standards from all over the north of the country at the wartime museum, Eden camp, a former POW camp near York.
Over 100 standards made up of RN, Army & RAF associations as well as the RBL attended and took part in a healthy march through the camp, followed by a short service of remembrance.
Guest of Honour was a Polish General, a veteran himself of WW2.
S/M's Gorden Atkinson, Gorden Pygott and Geoff Stevens of Barnsley made the most of the good weather as did eight members of Barnsley Sea Cadets who attended with them.
S/M Stevens was particularly moved when he spoke to a former 'inmate' of the camp 65 years ago, "The old boy was a wonderful lad, so moved by his visit today" said Geoff.
