April 10 Meeting
Minutes from March meeting read, no matters arising.
Main topic discussed: Latest social event, particularly the money raised from the hamper donated by SM Birkenshaw. Whilst Barnsley Sea Cadets were extremely greatful for the proposal that the profits raised should be donated to the Cadets, it was agreed that the money would be more beneficial to the RNA.
Everyone agreed that the night was a success with funds raised at the door and from raffles. Furthermore, strong links were established with neighbouring branches extending invitations to Barnsley. Pics on our 'Events' page

Sep 09 Meeting
Proposals to the members include moving the branch to a new venue, closer to Barnsley town centre. It was agreed that at the October meeting members would be notified of a forthcoming EGM, date TBD.
The proposed venue is the existing Barnsley Sea Cadet HQ, Racecommon Road, Barnsley. Links between both groups have been well established for over 4 years and the relationship is getting stronger.
Both Governing Documents (RNA Charter and Sea Cadet Regulations) state that such close ties between the two organisations are to be encouraged and indeed expected.
The benfits foreseen through such a move would include an increase in membership due to closer links to the community, being in a central location, with better access through local transport.
